My husband and I purchased this book when pregnant with our daughter and spent some time flicking through and looking at the varying names. There are many traditional names and I like the descriptions provided within. The only down side is the vast quantity makes it difficult to narrow down as the list of potential names just gets bigger and bigger the more you read the book. - Strengths:

This is a lovely book which my husband bought for us to look through together to narrow down our name ideas. With meanings next to each name and various spellings for certain names it really gives a good choice and alternative name suggestions that we may not have otherwise considered. - Strengths:

If you like the older-style names, this book is for you; however for myself and my partner we just couldn't get over how so many of the names were just so outdated.
It's fantastic if you want a browse for fun or ideas, or if you like traditional names, but for us it's just not what we were looking for.
I'm not rating the Book itself as bad, as it's purely down to option, but it's definitely not for me. - Strengths:

This book had a range of names that were really hard to choose from! The book had an introduction explaining meanings of names and the most used names in years which was an important factor as we didn't want a common name! -

I love a name book and when pregnant love to spend hours looking through each and every name. I liked this book in particular as it showed the meaning of each name which i always love to know. I got it brought as a lovely present when i was expecting my first baby and kept it ready for any more and used it for my second. Both my boys names came from the book. I love a traditional name and this book has 100s of them, with the odd what i would call bizarre names, but others may really like. - Strengths:

I got given this as a present for Christmas 2016 when I was expecting my first child and I found this to be a sweet and thoughtful present. I enjoyed looking through all the names and suggestions this book has to offer and enjoyed that the book included more traditional names and names from different cultures and their origins. The name that I eventually chose for my daughter was not in the book (perhaps I will send a suggestion to Penguin?!) but I found it thought provoking nonetheless and reading it made me think about the woman my baby daughter will one day be. Nothing I enjoyed more when I was pregnant that to leaf through the pages of a baby book. Choosing a name is important so learning the meaning is also important. Loads of names on the book old and new. I think the name game is always changing... so it's good to keep updated. - Strengths:
