Good for newborns. This came in handy for my hubby while i was still in hospital but baby at home. It would help him be able to settle the baby whilst he was trying to get on with our daughter and house work, the baby loved it. It was difficult for me but i had lots of surgery. I also think the amount of batteries it used and the length of power you got from them wasn't great at all. The lights and tunes are a lovely feature though i think you can use your own i pod for tunes to connect to it. Can't remember though as it's in the loft now. Overall its OK but i wouldn't Buy again! - Strengths:

The swing has great variety of seatinf positions and baby loves the twinkling lights and music however I find it difficult to get him in and out easily and the swing settings are quite confusing. Once he is in and swinging he does love it though - Strengths:

This is a great swing, there are lots of different features to use and it folds up so you can take it with you when visiting or going away. The light canopy is lovely, my daughter loves it and stares at it for ages - Strengths:

The swing comes with a canopy which is reversible and the seat is adjustable but even on the flat setting it is not fully flat but baby seems comfortable regardless. The power of the swing can be adjusted and a timer set for a maximum of 15 minutes. seat height not fully flat but baby still seems comfortable. My little one loves the lights and is intrigued by the little mouse and pyramid rattle toy attached to the swing.
The music I personally find tinny and annoying - not sure baby thinks much of it so we leave it off and he doesn't seem bothered however an excellent feature is that you can attach your own MP3/phone/tablet and play your own music. I received this as a gift as a gift it is fantastic but it is not something I would be willing to purchase myself for the price. - Strengths:

Bought this second hand for my daughter, she absolutely loves it. Love how there is three different timers, six speed settings, plays songs/stories and twinkling lights settings. I got another cover with it as well as the grey cover and it’s gorgeous. -

For me this has to be the worst thing I ever brought any of my kids..it's way to high up for a newborn even laid back. My new born didn't look comfy at all.. maybe it was just me but I wouldn't reccomend -

I actually really loved this little rocker. We bought it because Of the lights that come with hood. He loved watching them twinkle. The only downside to this was its quite heavy moving it around room to room as you move and try and get jobs done but apart from that would highly recommend. - Strengths:

I bought this as my son loves to be rocked, he loves the lights in the hood, and the swing it’s self is really good however it is a bit strange when it comes to the speed, it doesn’t work unless there is weight in the seat, you think the the numbers are speed settings but they aren’t they are weight, I also have to swing it myself sometimes to get it going. - Strengths:

My baby won't be put down very often (velcro baby!) but he has been known to sleep peacefully in this for over an hour at a time allowing me to get things done. I only wish it had a function to keep it on continuously so I don't have to keep pressing the 15 minute button to extend swing time.

We borrowed this off my friend for awhile as her daughter had grown out of it. My son loved it. Whenever he was being abit fussy or grumpy we could put him in and he would instantly relax, mesmerised by the lights twinkling above him. There’s a variety of different motions for the swing and various melodies plus you can also play music from your phone on it which is just genius! It folds quite flat too which is a bonus, we don’t have a lot of room, even less now with all the baby stuff so it’s handy being able to make it more compact to store.
There’s a good safety harness so you know once he’s fastened in he’s safe and it buys you that 5 minutes to put the washing on or feed the dog!
I only have two negatives about this product, 1) it eats batteries- they barely last two minutes and 2) might just be me being clumsy but I sometimes found it difficult getting baby in and out without catching his head on the canopy.
Verdict- it’s s lovely product to have but a normal vibrating rocker will do the same job and be a lot cheaper

Bought by relation for my daughter. Is easy to clean and the swing action works to calm and ease her to sleep when needed. Timer is great as you can quick press and sets to an average speed that you can adjust. The canopy lights weren’t appealing to her until around 10 weeks and now she loves them. Music can be a bit repetitive but the mp3 option combats having to listen to it over and over again. Just a shame they don’t hold their value as I have seen them on Facebook for as little as £40! - Strengths:

Our little girl loves her swing she has been in it once about 4 weeks old and has always loved it. We love the face you can plug your own music in to it so not been driven mad by the same tune on a loop! Easy to strip to clean and can be laid back for tiny babies.

We bought this for our little boy and it is an excellent swing. I love the fact it has music to help soothe baby. The seat reclines and there are multiple speed settings which makes it excellent t to use from birth. Straps are secure, easy to stamp baby in for peace of mind. This chair was a life saver. My little girl loved every minute she spent in it. The lights display is beautiful and she was memorised. There is 10 settings for speed of swinging and also plays music. A great feature is you can plug your phone in and play your own music. Whenever my baby got fussy I put her in the chair and she was happy. Great to put them on when making bottles and great for day time naps! It is expensive but worth it. - Strengths:

Fantastic swing, my little boy loved it used it from birth till 7 months then he worked out how to tip it. Really good that music can be played through aux cable as my little boy loved Disney songs. Fantastic for storing away. Really lovely swing is expensive compared to some however would still recommend it as it was one of my best purchases. - Strengths:

I brought the starlite swing second hand off of a friend of a friend. It’s not very intuitive to use, however there are instruction manuals online. It takes 4 x C batteries for the swing to work and an addition 2 x AAA batteries for the lights and music to work. I would buy shares in Duracell along with purchasing this swing as it eats batteries like you wouldn’t believe!
However my boy loves it, and it folds into a compact unit for travelling or storing. The covers come off and are machine washable which is a major bonus as my boy has reflux so we see a lot of spit up! - Strengths:
