Graco Snugfix 0+ Car Seat

This car seat was bought as part of a travel system. It is comfortable for baby especially with the newborn inserts it comes with which supports the back and head. Baby always looks safe and goes to sleep in the car in it. The colour is neutral so can be used for either boy/girl. We use it with an isofix base and it just clicks in so is easy to use. This has lasted us for 2 of our children with hardly any scuff marks and it has been used a lot. The only downside is if you have a bigger baby it won't last long as it isn't an overly big car seat.

I purchased this carseat direct from Graco as if stated it was compatible with the buggy I had bought......it wasn't! By the time my son was born I'd already owned the seat for around 3 months so could no longer return it. I searched online to see if an adapter was available but nothing was to be done. I don't drive so although annoying it didn't seem TOO much of a hardship as the car seat would only be used on occasions when a family member would drive us somewhere. The seat seemed comfortable enough, straps adjusted ok and I liked the extra padding for new borns. The seat is very heavy however. Taking my son home from the hospital at 3.5kg he looked so tiny in the seat and I was confident that even as a non driver I'd get a fair bit of use out of it before my son was 13kg and grew out of it. Well, nearly 8 months later I no longer feel this way and am wondering how Graco size their products.
My son has followed the 50th centile line almost perfectly since he was born - this means that he is the average weight for a baby of his age. And yet the top of his head is already above the top of the seat, his arms are squashed in, his feet stick over the edge (which makes it difficult when rear facing) and most importantly the width of the straps are so close together that they leave rub marks on the sides of my babies neck! Now if he was 12+ months I probably wouldn't be as vexed as every baby is different. But to advertise a product as up to 13kg/15 months and not be able to accommodate an 8 month old who is not even 9kg yet is ridiculous. I was happy with the product to start but don't expect it to last long, even after taking the newnew born inserts out.

This is a great car seat. It's very safe, fixes into the car with an isofix for extra safety or can be used without that. My lo finds it very comfortable and is quite happy to have a nap in it. I find it quite heavy, especially as baby grows it does get heavier but it is a good arm workout. The cover is easy to remove and wash as well.
