Really love this car seat and it has been brilliant since bringing our daughter home up until now. We had to buy additional inserts when she was a newborn as the headrest is a little too big but we’ve just removed these and it’s ideal. Really lightweight and the isofix bass is really easy to fit.

Overall I am very happy with this car seat. It is easy to fit, can be used as part of the travel system with my silver cross pram and looks good! My little one seems to be comfortable in it as he has no problems falling asleep in it!

I have the Brompton Simplicity car seat to match my pram. It's pleasing to look at and feels very sturdy. It's easy to clip my son in the seat and the straps are easily adjustable for a growing baby.

The downsides are the price (very expensive) and it's also very heavy. Although I haven't used other car seats so they may all weigh the same.

    • Strengths:

This product has a modern and simple look which I personally find attractive.

    • Weaknesses:

A little more support around the head would be ideal.

This car seat is perfect for new born babies. It has a simple but modern design and fits perfectly onto the silver cross pioneer pram that I also have. There is good support around the chest area and baby looks comfortable. However i do believe a little more support around the head area would complete this product.

The simplicity car seat is what it says on the tin, very simplistic. I have found it very easy to put in the car using both the isofix and with just the seatbelt - which have a coloured guide to remind you where the seatbelt needs to go. The 5 point harness is easy to put together.
The only things I found was that the first few times we put our newborn in, she seemed very very small in it and looked uncomfortable. The other negative is that the sun hood is small in comparison to other car seats and you need an additional bigger sun shield to protect your baby from the uv rays.

      Very cushioned, warm and protected.

    • Weaknesses:

The head rest isn't very suitable for a newborn who cannot support their head

I used the Simplicity Car Seat with both of my children. I like how they are very padded and protected, the car seat comes with a litter cover which keeps their little legs warm. Adjusting the safety harness straps are very simple. The design is beautiful and very classic SilverCross. I got vintage pink this time and it is so pretty. The only thing that lets this car seat down is the lack of head support for newborns, it looks quite uncomfortable as they cannot support their head. I however purchased a clip in head support from Mothercare which worked wonders so I had no worries re purchasing the car seat again two years later as I kept the clip in head support.

This car seat was heavy to carry and I found it very difficult to strap it into the car properly due to the design of it. Other than that seemed fairly comfortable for baby.

We bought the simplicity car seat along with the wayfarer. I loved the access to a travel system. Could easily pop to shops and attach car seat to pram. Baby looked comfortable with growing space by removing newborn inserts. Occasional head tilting (not sure why) but overall a great product.

My husband surprised me with the whole silver cross pioneer travel system when we found out we were expecting our first child together (third for each of us) I had hinted enough. At first glance it was amazing seeed to have thought of everything until our baby boy came along. Our baby is too upright so his head is constantly falling forward. We travel a lot and I’m very uneasy when we do a long distance now. He never looks comfy and never sleeps long for this reason. There’s not much padding and just altogether uncomfortable!! Very disappointed. We do love the prom tho.

i really wanted to love this car seat as it was a package and gift to match our pushchair travel system from silver cross. However i can not say i was overly impressed by it . the straps are easy enough to adjust and the fitting of the seat to the pushchair chassis and the car is quick and easy. five point safety harness for travelling and safety of baby. it has an inbuilt wedge in seat for newborns however my baby just looked awkward and not very comfortable at all,. the biggest negative for me is the hood it serves no purpose what so ever. it covers and shaded next to nothing. on this basis i would not recommend or purchase again for another child

I do not think this product is suitable for a newborn. I put my newborn in it and travelled home from the hospital, by the time we were home his head was basically at a right angle due to insufficient padding. I’ve queried this with a few major retailers who have agreed and said they have relayed concerns to silvercross. I would not recommend this product for a newborn! Now my baby is 4 months it is great and easy to use, however due to my earlier experience I tend to avoid using it and use the replacement we bought when baby was 2 days old!

I expected to love this car seat. I love using as part of the silver cross travel system and it works perfectly with the isofix.
The design is lovely And adjusting the straps is fairly easy but that’s about all of its good points.
The good is very shallow and doesn’t really shield your baby from any sun. It isn’t very padded and quite hard. I find it extremely difficult to get our baby out of without feeling like I am hurting his arms or shoulders. The buttons to press down to move the handle are awkward. Sometimes very difficult to press while trying to reach across to both. With a crying baby you are trying to get out of the car seat the last thing you need is a fight with the handle.
Our car seat came free with the pram but if I’d have purchased this separately I don’t think I’d feel I had got value for money. I since have seen much nicer car seats around.

The straps can be hard to get on and off my baby. Also the new born wedge in the bottom of the seat makes my child look so uncomfortable when it’s in so have to take it out. Also the sun shade is very small and almost pointless in it being there! Only really good for short 5-10 mins travel.

I bought the pioneer pram, so this car seat was the obvious matching choice. I wish I’d bought a different pram I've always had trust in Silver Cross designs but now I no longer like them Way too uptight for baby, his head always rolls about, especially when in the car no head insert to support the head. The straps only adjust to two heights, and the headrest is supposed to correspond. Not good for small newborn babies as baby looks so uncomfortable . Very awkward to get off the base of the pram, Overall quite disappointing.

Nice car seat, just a shame it sits too far up right meaning our baby’s head wasn’t always fully supported. Other than that it was very easy to use both in the car and out.

We are really happy with this car seat, it came as part of the Wayfarer travel system which made it good value for money. It’s easy to use and install in the car, my daughter mostly seems comfortable in it although sometimes looks a bit awkward, and have had to stop to reposition her! It is also very heavy compared to other car seats making it difficult to carry.

I bought the pioneer pram, so this car seat was the obvious matching choice. I wish I’d bought something else. Way too uptight for baby, his head always lolls about, especially when in the car. The straps only adjust to two heights, and the headrest is supposed to correspond. Not good for a larger newborn baby who needs low headrest and higher strap position. Very awkward to get off the base of the pram, much easier to get on and off isofix. Overall quite disappointing.

We got the simplicity to go with are wayfarer pram. Our daughter was only 5lbs 7oz when she was born and spent 2 weeks in the NICU so when she came out she was just shy of 5lbs, but she fit so perfectly into it, she looked comfortable and supported for her being so small. It’s definitely worth it for her being that supported at newborn. She’s 14 months 17lbs and still in it and will be until she outgrows it. The straps were a bit stiff at the start but became much easier to use over time. The hood/sunshade is very disappointing because it’s just not covering enough it doesn’t really cover anything so you’d definitely need a parasol to go with it. My LG has really bad reflux and sickness up until she was about 6 months so she spent a lot of time in the car seat to keep her upright but it’s definitely not the best/easiest to clean. The back part comes off as does the Velcro straps but that’s it so you have to try and clean the rest of it by hand. Which is very difficult to get the smell of sick out. But safety wise I’d definitely recommend it. I do love how supportive and safe she is in it.

    • Strengths:

Clips easily onto the silver cross pushchair to act as a travel system

    • Weaknesses:

Not good for smaller babies. I personally didn't feel it provided much support.

    • Comfortable
    • Value for money
    • Easy to use

My daughter was born prematurely and this car seat which I bought before she was born was not suitable due to her low birth weight initially. When she was over the 6lb mark, we started using it as it fitted so easily onto the isofix base and also slotted nicely onto the pram. However, I found it to be very heavy but also didn't feel that my daughter was very supported in the car seat. It didn't seem to tilt back as much as other car seats which meant that my daughters head flopped right forward when she fell asleep. I found this to be a better car seat for bigger babies but not so much for smaller babies or newborns.
  • 3.00/5
    • Strengths:

It was comfortable for my little girl once she was a bit bigger

    • Weaknesses:

It wasn’t very supportive for my tiny newborn

We got the simplicity car seat as part of the package when we bought the pioneer pram, value for money was therefore excellent. The car seat wasn’t very comfortable for my 6 pound new born and was quite heavy. However as she got bigger it was much more comfortable and ideal to clip on and off the pram, despite that it was heavy.

It’s a good car seat. We have adaptors so can go straight into pram. Had an insert that you can remove when they get bigger. Also is adjustable as babies grow. I find it fiddly and difficult to work out but that’s probably more me. Just make sure to read the instructions before you need it!! It’s very heavy especially once your baby it putting on them pounds so not easily moveable.

Is a very good product, does everything needed. Easy to carry and transport around. Comfortable. Only downside is that it is small so may not last others long, luckily my daughter was a small baby so lasted her until she was about 13 months.

I have purchased this car seat as an addition to the Surf 2 travel system. There are many aspects that I really love but also few that I would change.
First of all, as all Silver Cross products, it has been made with strong, good quality materials and soft fabric making it very cosy. It is very easy to use as part Of a travel system as well as in the car. They have added a comfy wedge that can be removed when your baby grows. On the other hand, I think that the position Of the baby is a little bit too upright when in this car seat, this can slightly adjusted in the car if not using the base, however in the pram, it was making me quite uncomfortable. This was only the problem when my sons were very young, and as they got older and has more head control, it became a plus. Another thing, It would be nice if the handle had more positions as it is slightly uncomfortable to carry and when in the pram, it is not possible to hang toys for baby to play with as it is too low or too high, again it is not a major issue.
Price wise, I think it is a good value for money as they cost of one is really average when it comes to the car seat in this age range.
Generally, I would recommend to the people who are planning on getting a silver cross pram.
