In its group 1 form, the seat uses an impact shield instead of a harness system to hold your child in place. This adjustable shield works like an inflated airbag, and as such absorbs energy in an impact, reducing force on your child. It's a great option for children who prefer the freedom of movement in their upper body which a harness does not allow. When you are ready to move your child on from a group 1 seat, just remove the impact shield and this turns the seat into a Solution X2-Fix which is an excellent group 2/3 seat. 

One of the most important safety parts of the Pallas 2-Fix is the patented reclining headrest. Although side-impact collisions are less common than frontal ones, they tend to cause more injury so this is why Cybex developed this feature. It lets your child's head to recline further and therefore stay within a safe zone of the headrest and therefore help to protect against serious injury. It's also more comfy for your child while they snooze!

Moving down the seat you will find the Liner Side-impact Protection (L.S.P. System Plus). This absorbs impact energy, protecting your little one, using a linear series of reactions using the protective cushions on the seat.The seat grows with your child; there are 11 different positions that you can adjust the head and shoulder protectors to so there is plenty of choice as they grow.The seat can be used in a car that has ISOFIX connectors or not as the arms fold away neatly under the seat, so is suitable for use in most cars. The reclining backrest also allows the seat to fit most cars well, as well as providing a more comfortable journey for your little one.
