Britax Römer Max-way Car Seat

The Britax Maxway is a rear facing only car seat that retails at £210 GBP that will carry your child from 9kg to 25kg it is secured into your vehicle by seatbelt, tether straps and a support leg and is also Swedish plus tested; which is the only form of testing in the world that measures neck loads which ensures that the car seat has outstanding safety standards. For me this was a huge selling point, growing up with a lot of back and neck pain I will always do all I can to ensure Archie is kept at a low risk of any of these problems occurring if we were ever to be in a collision with him present in the car.


The Britax Maxway features a 5 point safety harness and deep, protective side wings which Archie tends to place his knees on whilst he crosses his legs, (yes they can do this and they can fit rear facing even when they grow taller!) I also find the option of recline pretty reasonable and you also have the option of a further recline wedge which can be bought separately if desired, we do use the extra wedge as our vehicles seats are slopes which takes away from the natural recline of the seat. I find using the wedge does increase Archies'  leg room slightly.
Overall I genuinely love this carseat and place my full trust in the safety this seat offers my precious cargo! As you can see; Archie is pretty happy in there too!




With my daughter we had this car seat. I tried to find same for my son but we were not lucky on that day find any. Still regret not buying it earlier. I just love this style car seat. Well, there are many of alike looks and comfort. But once you bring something and you like it, you just go for it. Recommending for sure

Amazing car seat - Can use up until 25KG rear facing which is great! I won’t need another car seat until around 6 years old. Easy to fit, and not expensive.

The Britax Max Way is a fantastic seat. We got it to replace our joie 360 spin when it was involved in a crash. The Max Way represents excellent value for money as it will last our 50th centile boy to around aged 5/6 and will definitely take our 75th centile boy up to the recommended minimum age for a high back booster of 4. It is a good sized seat and my 2 year old tells me it is comfortable. I read the instructions and watched a YouTube video on how to fit it and for the most part it is fairly straightforward - even to someone who has only fitted isofix seats before. The tethers are the most complicated part of the fitting and it is just a case of working out where they tether to and ensuring they are pulled tight. I check them when I put my son in the seat and tighten them when they feel slack. I would highly recommend this seat. It is not suitable for newborn but it is economical as a seat that will take your child from when they outgrow their infant carrier up until they can go in a high backed booster.

We love this seat as we wanted an extended rear facing car seat. We needed to move from my sons infant car seat early (he hated the car so we hoped this would help... it didn't but time did!) And many of the other extended rear facing car seats couldn't be used from 9 months but this could.
It's a little bulky and trickier than an infant seat to install but we don't move it and had the installation checked at a retailer. I find the harness can be a little tricky to pull tight enough but sometimes just needs a good tug.
It's a lovely upright seat which gives my son a great view and is also well padded and comfy. Changing the harness level is really simple as is doing up the buckle.

Love this car seat. Not the easiest to put into the car but it doesn’t get removed much so that’s not a problem. The 3 way harness is easy to put together and the seat has plenty of padding.

A good car seat which is solid and also comfortable. Easy to use with 3 ppint harness and rather easy ay to instal into the car with the seatbelt.

Very safe Rear-Facing car seat for kids from 9 months to 36kg (6 yrs).

It has received lot of safety certification and crash test results are really good.
It is quite compact and can fit in a small car easily.
It comes in several colours, and looks really nice!
