I would recommend the gro egg to anyone with a baby, especially those using gro bags for bed time. The colour indicator makes it a simple task in knowing how to appropriate dress your baby for bed which takes out the guess work for parents. - Strengths:

We have had this gro egg thermometer for over 5 years now. I originally bought it for my first daughter. Like any first time parent I use to panic every bed time......am I putting her in the correct clothing is it too hot or too cold??? This gave me a little piece of mind some could check the temperature of the room and them the for bags would advise me what to dress her in for bed. It helped me so much and we are using it again now with our new addition. Room temperatures are important and this product is great for helping us parents to ensure the babies are dressed accorodinly to the temp!!! Love it. - Strengths:

Bought this before baby was born. It’s great and does the job and works well with the cards that come with gro company items so you know how many layers etc to dress your baby in.
It’s a bit unnecessary as I didn’t realise how many things would have the room temp on, having my monitor on is sufficient really so don’t use the gro egg that regularly - Strengths:

We have got this as first time parents. It’s has made are life so easy knowing he is dressed right for bed time. Also the settings on the brightness of the light is good, gives us a really nice amount of light but dosnt stop us sleeping. - Strengths:

I love this as it accurately displays the temperature of the room. The colour changes according to room temperature which is really great for monitoring during the night. The only thing I don't like about this is when the colour changes, it lights up really bright before dimming again, which really tends to annoy my baby. - Strengths:

I loved the initial look of this product and heard good things, so I purchased it. Quite quickly I discovered that the temperature readings weren't always accurate and would indicate a higher temperature than it actually was. Rather than going to the thermometer, I can see the colours it displays, which indicates to me what temperature range it is in the room, so I can act accordingly as well as being able to read the digital reading. It needs to be plugged in, low maintaince, easy to use. - Strengths:

Absolutely love this gro egg thermometer. It’s small and practical, I love how you can put character sleeves on it. We have the monkey. It stays on permanently in the bedroom & the light indication is what we use more than actual temperature reading. Wish the wire was longer though for ease of placement. - Strengths:

We find this product a great guide to keeping an eye on the temperature in the room. We have two as both were gifts, but find the colours aren’t accurate for our little one. Great little gro egg for keeping a watch on the nursery temperature. It's simple to use, changes colour so you know from quick glance if it's too cold, ok or too hot. It has a long lead on it too which is useful when trying to plug it in. Every parent should buy one! - Strengths:

My daughter was born at the height of the 2018 heatwave so it was good to know just how hot it was for her. Now that the nights are cooling down we are finding this a lot more useful because we don’t want to overhear her in her GroBag.
We decided to buy this ‘older’ model of GroEgg because we couldn’t really see much difference between this and the newer model, except the price!
I like the shells you can buy to put on top of this and turn it into a night light as well as a temperature monitor. The display is bright and the numbers easy to distinguish but if you cant see the numbers you can always tell with the bright colours of the egg the general temp of the room.
Overall this is a useful tool to have but not totally necessary - Strengths:

After having a summer baby in the middle of a heatwave I was so cautious of him being too hot but then also cooling the room down too much and him being too hot. When I purchased this product I instantly felt at ease. The box tells you the optimum room temperature and the screen is clear and easy to read. I also really like that it has smiley face for if the temperature is right. I also really like the different colour lights to indicate temperature and don’t find these too bright to affect sleep. This product I feel really helps me to decide what to put my baby in for bedtime and how many layers of blankets to add on.

Had this for the first 5 months with my second baby and it was great but sometimes the temperature fluctuated very quickly. If the temp was 19 degrees for example I could move the device a few cm and it would change by 2 or 3 degrees. Definitely recommend though as was a great night light - Strengths:

Overall, this is a brilliant product. It looks cute as just as egg but you are able to buy different shells to put over the top of it (we have the owl) which helps its use as a night light. It’s clever how the light changes colour for the temp in the room so it’s red if it’s too hot, blue if it’s too cold etc so you can check without having to disturb your baby. The face of it is clear to read, it plugs in simply with one wire which is really long so it doesn’t have to be right next to a plug & there’s one power button on the bottom so very easy to use.
The only issue I had with it was really that, my son was born this summer (2018) which was a stupidly hot, hot summer. Now, we had TWO fans blowing, windows cracked open, doors open... everything we could think of & it was still far too hot which just led me to worry that my baby was going to overheat. There were times when I thought it’s a lot cooler today than it has been lately but when I turned the egg on, it was saying it was hotter. In the end, I stopped turning it on & just used my own body temp to decide what to put my son to bed in. It is a lovely product but I have my doubts on how accurate the temperature actually is. - Strengths:

The Gro Egg Digital Baby Thermometer will help assure that baby's room is the perfect temperature. The colour of the Gro Egg indicates the room temperature. A blue glow indicates it is too cold (under 16°C), while yellow signals the recommended temperature (16°C to 20°C), orange is warm (20° to 24°C) and red means it's too warm (over 24°C).
