I used this product 4 times before deciding to buy a different thermometer. It's a good thermometer but I noticed it wasn't measuring temperature accurately. It would say 35.3 in one ear and 38 in the other. I bought an under arm one which is much more accurate. I feel this product is better suited for older children that can keep still and ear canals are larger. - Strengths:

For any parent, the thought of your child falling ill is terrifying, so you need to have a thermometer for when this may happen in order to monitor their wellbeing. I bought this one as Tommee Tippee are a reputable, well known brand and I thought the price was reasonable. I have had use it a few times when my little boy was tiny after his first set of jabs. I have to say I struggled when he was tiny to use it as it didn't seem to fit his ear correctly, and I didn't feel as though the reading was accurate for this reason. However, as he has grown the thermometer fits better now and I am more happy with the accuracy of the readings.
Sometimes it gives two different readings within minutes of one another, but I think you just need to make sure you are putting it in their ear correctly. I also think as a parent you know when your child is ill, so if you ever felt as though the reading wasn't accurate enough then going to get them checked out would be best.
I think it's a must have for any parent, would definitely recommend! - Strengths:

These are great for reassurance if you have a poorly child, however you do have to make sure that you have the thermometer correctly in the ear, otherwise you may get a false reading. - Strengths:

I got this thermometers as gift in baby box. I loved the design as it was so easy to use and no fuss and doesn’t irritates the toddler. Gives a quick result and no hassles to wait long.The price is good and comes with hygiene covers. It is so easy to read.
The worst part is when we check the readings more then once it gives slightly different reading every-time. So it makes me worry sometimes for the kid as no accurate readings. I would not recommend this to anyone i think.

Really easy to use this thermometer and has the necessary settings to test temperature of babies to adults. Nice handy shape for holding and keeps its charge well.

I have 3 thermometers, 1 head, 1 underarm and the tommee tippee ear thermometer, this is by far the best and quickest way to check my babies temperature. As a new mum I can become quite paranoid about just how hot or cold my newborn is and I find that the ear thermometer is just so easy to quickly check my baby without bothering him in anyway. The screen is big and clear and it comes with changable hygiene covers incase it is used on anybody else in the future. A great purchase and will be used for years to come.

I bought this mainly because the brand name Tommee Tippee is popular and usually this means the products are of good quality. I can’t say the same for this product. The only advantages is the modern design and the refillable packs you can buy to ensure a high standard of higeine. The actual product is awful. Several inaccurate readings which can easily cause worry in a mother. The price is quite high for the product, so therefore I feel it should give a very accurate reading nine times out of ten which just isn’t the case. This product didn’t work for me which led to me buying a different brand. - Strengths:

I brought this as it was in the baby event rather cheap. I will never own any other thermometer now. This is so easy to use with one hand, quick press of a button and it tells you the temperature if it's okay it lights up green if it's to high it lights up red. This is so much easier and quicker to use on a baby (and on the whole family to be fair) than any other thermometer. Easy to use and to read. The beeps indicate a fever or high fever even before looking at the screen. Overall it's accurate but there have been occasions when I measure the temperature 3 times in the same position but it gives me different readings. I like the design of this but I find it hard to get an accurate reading. It’s very quick at giving a temperature but i have to do it a few times to get a good enough reading. It has little caps you can put on the top of it each time for hygiene reasons which is a great idea as they are thrown away after each use and no need to clean. It’s easy to use too. - Strengths:

Bought this at BOOTS, during a sales event, was much cheaper. I've read some reviews and it looked one of the best ear thermometers. The two botons are easy to use, one for on/off and the other for the reading. Easy to hold also. Is not very accurate, you need to use 2 to 3 times in each ear to know the real temperature. Everytime I use the hygienic caps I can't read the temperature, it says low. So I don't use caps and try to keep it clean and only use it on my baby's ear. I found it very noisy and baby's moves a lot when listen to it, could been less noisy! - Strengths:

I was gifted this item when my baby was born & it has been extremely handy. I do have a normal under-the-arm thermometer as well which I do use but this one is always my go to. It's straightforward to use, simply turn it on, pop it in your baby/child's ear & push the button down. Wait for the double beep & remove. The only thing to bare in mind when using this is that if you don't pull their ear back enough you will get an incorrect reading which I have done a couple times but I just re-do it & get a correct reading. The only thing I would like with this product is a little case to put it in so I can keep all the bits together. I keep it in the box so I don't lose anything but it's quite bulky (when you're low on storage). The replacement tips are fairly cheap too coming it at around 13p per tip (£5.29 for 40 on Amazon). - Strengths:

I use these on a daily basis at the hospital I work at , I also have one at home and they are so easy to use and very simple. I do think they are slightly expensive but they seem to be the best to use.

My sister in law bought us this thermometer as it had worked so brilliantly for her 2 year old daughter. Our Daughter however, was born 5 weeks early and with her tiny ears we found using this product difficult. It comes with some illustrative instructions but we did not find these helpful. For those parents who are unaware of the thermometer being to big to achieve correct temperature readings of their little ones, it may cause unnecessary worry and trips to the emergency room. We will keep the product for future use but for babies this product is not a reliable choice. - Weaknesses:

This thermometer in theory is very good although when faced with an upset baby and trying to take a temperature by the ear when they are squirming it is difficult to get an accurate reading. The beep when the temperature has been taken also adds to the situation considering it's in their ear at the time! If it flashed when ready it might be better. I always find I have to have a couple of attempts to get an accurate/consistent reading. - Strengths:

I bought this in the sale so wasn’t even stung at full price but I have since purchased a strip one for £1 and will use that over this one. It is pricey and I find it not to be accurate. It always seems to low. The battery lasted about 2 months and with something that is used as rare as this I would expect it to last a lot longer. I wouldn buy one again - Strengths:

Not happy. Despite its credentials and claims, this item did not live up to expectations, at least not in my case. I measured the temperature once and had a reading that did not seem to reflect what school reported only half an hour before. Tried again, 5 degrees higher. I measured multiple times, had a different reading in each occasion. It may have been me being unlucky and picking a defective one. I have read many not so good reviews on this item, I have found it to be really good. It's so much easier to use than an armpit one which my son hated and refused to let me use. It took seconds to get a reading which is good. Size isn't to large for baby's ear. Protective colours kept it clean. I have read that so me had unreliable readings but I never found this the case. My gp even recommend this product to me. It's easy to use and stores the last reading which is handy when on the phone to gp. I’ve used this a few times and ended up buying a different one, I find it’s completely in accurate and gives you different readings. Also the kids got quite frightened of it as you are putting it in there ears and if it comes up error then you push a bit further and they didn’t like it.
