Really great Lamaze product as always with them. Lots of diffenet textures and sounds. Plus a cool mirror on the bottom that the baby can discover when playing. Also got teething rings for the elders babies to chew. Can be hung wherever. We have used this on the.baby gym and taken out in pram. It entertains and holds babies interests while capturing their attention really well. Mirror for them to explore themselves. Rattles and crinkles and soft and cuddly parts too. Really love the Lamaze toys for babies development and entertainment and this doesn’t fail.
My little one absolutely loves Captain Calamari, we have to give everywhere with it. He loves the crunchy hat and various textures of the tentacles. Only problem is he loves it so much it needs regular washing which is difficult as you can't remove the plastic bits to put it in the machine.
We use this on the car seat to keep Joey entertained during car journeys and to take with us if we are out. There are so many fantastic sensory parts he never gets bored of it. He especially loves the mirror underneath and holding on to the rings to develop his grip. It is easy to clip on and off the car seat, pram or even bag straps.
Lots of different parts, surprise mirror under tummy

The octopus legs are all made from different fabrics and textures. There is a rattle ball on one of the legs and two rings that my son loves to chew on. Under the octopus’s tummy there is also a mirror. We have Called its Ozzy
This lived on my babies high chair and would distract him at meal times. It wipes down easy and the little nots help with teething. It’s so soft and colourful too.
Sons favourite attached to pram bar and comes everywhere with us loves looking his reflection in mirrored section and a varitety
Of different sections on toy keeps him entertained.
We have several of the Lamaze toys, but Captain Calamari has saved our life for car journeys. We have it hooked in to the car so it can be easily reached by my little one and now where we used to hear screams from the back, we now hear the rattle and scrunch of this toy.
Each tentacle has a different sensory feel or sound, including a rattle, scrunchy sounds as well as a range of textured fabrics, including silky and velvety. There is also a mirror on the under side of it, along with lots of bright colours and an engaging facial expression.
Lamaze toys are great. This is colurful and bright. My little one love playing with this. Lots of different textures for them to feel with all his legs. Great to clip on the pushchair or car seat for travel play too
As with all Lamaze toys Captain Calamari is great, he is bright and colourful with fabulous textures.
He has a clip so if you want you can attach him to your buggy or car seat and he will stay safe no worries of him getting lost.
Captain Calamari stays with my mum so when we go round to there house we have toys to play with.
A brilliant toy that keeps my little boy entertained in the car and when we detach it from the seat at home! It’s brightly coloured which he loves with lots of different textures and sounds! He loves to cuddle it too! A must buy for me!
I bought this for my baby when he was about 8 weeks old and starting to take an interest in things around him. It has become a firm favourite and we ended up hanging it from the baby gym for him to play with, we now use it lots for tummy time too.
He loves the different textures on the tentacles and the crinkly hat. There’s also a rattle and teething rings plus a mirror underneath. I’m not going to lie, the mirror really reminds me of Old Gregg from The Mighty Boosh!
The Lamaze toys aren’t cheap, we had a pelican first that someone bought us and he really didn’t show any interest in it. He really likes the octopus though and it was definitely worth the money, there’s so much variety on it that it is good value.
We even took him on holiday with us to keep the baby entertained on the plane and it worked a treat!
Captain calamari has been a firm favourite for both my children they love his tentacles and bright colours. He has a clip so can be attached to car seat or pushchair for when you're out and about.
I love the Lamaze toys...they are all very colourful and keeps my child entertained for a while. This one has a bell attached to it as an extra feature. It also has crinkly pieces for the child to feel. This is a great sensory toy and is light for the child to pick up. The price is a little expensive...all the Lamaze toys are but it is worth the money.
This is a great toy to distract little ones - the different textures on the legs keep our little boy entertained. There’s a lot to it which is ideal - including a mirror, rattle toys. It is quite large so not suitable for all prams (see pic), but we use it for floor play instead.
My little girl loves this toy. It's nice and bright and has lots of textures for her to explore. She started playing with it at 4 months and it has grown with her. She loves fidgeting with the crinkly bits and catching the plastic rattle part when I dangle it above her. It's really helped developed her motor skills and I find it washes well too. Loved it so much I went out a bought another for my nephew.
My little one started showing Captain Calamari at around 4 months. He loves to chew on all the different parts and stares at the bright colours. The different textures make different sounds too, (crispy and crunchy sounds, which helps to entertain him.
My only negative is that its not a small toy really and is too big to be clipped on to his pram without it swinging and hitting him in the face!
All in all a lovely toy for sensory stimulation.
I love Lamaze toys. We have several! The bright colours, interesting sounds and textures ever fail to entertain my little one. Captain Calamari is his favourite at the moment. The octopus has a soft cuddly body and a range of different textures and accessories on each of his tentacles; so he is great for tactile play and chewing! The octopus attaches easily to the pushchair, car seat and can even be added to the toy bar on the bouncy chair. Easy to wipe clean and he can also withstand a cycle in the washing machine.
Got this when my daughter was around 3/4 months and she loved it. She would chew on parts of it when teething, she liked the textures and colours. She's almost 2 and still likes it.
My son received Captain Calamari as a gift when he was 3 months old,and really likes him.He especially loves admiring himself in the mirror which is underneath his body and pulling his tentacles! He also has a handy clip which I have used to attach him to my son's baby gym.It is a lovely educational toy with lots of colours and textures for me to introduce to my son,and I would definitely recommend it.
My daughters favourite lots of colours and nice crinkle hat
Weaknesses:
Rattle sometimes knocks her head when she shakes the toy but not really a big deal

Great quality toy and my daughter loves it. Loves when I “can-can” his legs. Can role play with a pirate voice. Nice surprise mirror at the bottom all very good for sensory. Daughter has played with this since birth and still loves it 4 months later
My son absolutely loves this toy. The colours always grab his attention, and he seems to love the noises the legs make. It's great because there is always something for his to grab, what with their being so many tentacles!
Captain Calamari has been used hard since we received him - he has been a welcome addition to our little one's play time! She's fascinated by the rattle and very interested in the Captain's hook foot which she chews on incessantly. I love Captain Calamari because he's cute and playful and baby follows my excitement when I introduce him to her - I particularly like the crinkle hat. He is currently in the washing machine waiting to be washed as he was recently dropped on the floor of a car park, I'm feeling positive that he'll wash up quite well though, I would be disappointed if an octopus didn't do well in water. Very well made, a sweet little toy and would recommend to everyone.
My son got this as a present for Xmas and at just 3 months he loves it! He really focus on it as it rattles and obviously crinkles. He also loves the mirror.
The only thing is that you always need to be careful the attachment (big white hoop) is already "facing" baby so it doesn't tap their head (hopefully this makes sense!)
