Although the recommended age for the beat bo is 9+ months, my five month old really enjoys it. A friend with an older baby had one and that’s how I found that she liked it so I purchased my own. Although my daughter is too young to learn what the beatbo is trying to teach she loves the different lights and songs and I imagine it will be a toy that will keep her entertained more and more with age. I would say this toy is worth every penny for its entertainment value
After my husband said our daughter didn't need any Christmas presents as she was only born in September, I purchased this, although the age range was older, I thought lights and sounds would be fab we could press it until she was bigger, at 4 months old, she actually manages to knock it about herself, she loves the lights and sounds and bops away with it, it was the best toy I have purchased and I'm so glad we did. We take it in her pushchair when we are going out for dinner and its like a disco in her pram top! Very colourful and noisy but fab for growing little ones.
My little one loves this and can easily get it to work on her own. She loves any kind of music and bops away to it. It plays dancing games like freeze dancing which my one year old doesn't get yet but she will in time. You can record yourself saying something and it will sing it back to you. It is a bit expensive but that's the only downside, I would recommend.
I bought this for my little boy who loves lights. This toy dances, has music and lots of colourful lights. You can even record a 3 second clip. I love that I can record 'I love you' for my little boy for whenever he plays with this toy
My baby absolutely loves this toy, he’s 9mths old and kicks his legs away to the music. It’s been dropped loads and never broke so very robust. The large happy face is appealing with the strong bold colours. The red button however doesn’t play music, it instructs you to speak and records what you say, then the toys repeats it in a song. My baby would definitely prefer this to be another musical button as he loses interest when it’s pushed. Maybe older children would enjoy that part of it as it’s interactive.
This is an ok toy, but the voice is so irritating, I was expecting a lot more to be honest. Little one loves the lights but doesn’t get played with very much
My daughter loves to dance with this toy but does find the red button a pain when she presses it thinking it will play music but it just wants to record what you say.
easy for the baby to press the buttons and use this by herself
Weaknesses:
I’ve found in occasion the songs just randomly stop half way through

So I bought this already dreDing bring8ng more noisy toys into the home. My 11 month old was scared to death of it bless her. She likes musical and noisy toys but this was the first she had that also moved. It really freaked her out. Took a couple of days of playing it out of reach eg when she was in her Highchair I would turn it on at the other side of the room. Now she can’t get enough of it.
In typical child style she won’t let one song finish before the button is pressed for another and I’m sick to death of having to drop whatever I’m doing so I can do the “freeze song” with her, but she loves him and that’s good enough for me.
Big. Chunky. Robust. It will last a long time.
son did not like it but then got use to it and loves it now likes dancing and the sounds great for the price these are brilliant toys Would definitely recommend!
these are brilliant toys. my little boy adores his one. on some days its the only thing that calms him down. yes he has smacked himself in the face with it once or twice but that's his clumsey fault. the bright lights and music keep his interest for nearly ten minutes at a time which is perfect for me.
A smashing toy
We really love our Beatbo. My 5 month old and 2 year old both really enjoy playing with it. The buttons are big and easy to press. My youngest presses the buttons while doing tummy time so it’s a nice feature having the buttons the feet. The colours are lovely and bright and the songs are great with a nice variety. The volume button underneath is good to adjust but it’s either pretty quiet or pretty loud in my opinion. There’s no other down falls to it, we love it
We received this as a present for our daughter. It’s a great toy, with bright lights that our little one loves! There are ways of interacting through the music and the tunes are educational. Would definitely recommend!
So overpriced. I didn't get this with my daughter as it was always so expensive. But my baby son we got him this for Christmas and he lost interest in 10minutes. Its really not as good as I had expected, disappointed. He has another robot that cost £5 and he prefers that.
Very typical of the grandparents to but something noisy and musical for Christmas but my daughter loves it - me not so much ?
The colour changing lights are really good and really catch little ones attention. The voice is a little annoying and the volume but again this doesn’t bother little one.
The robot dancers and sings little sings about colours and alphabet - I LOVE how it says z as zed not zee!
The record a sound option where the child makes noises and it plays it as a song is a little advanced for my little one at the moment but I’m sure she’ll pick it up.
This is a great little toy for my son and it’s a great way for my son to develop in so many different areas as it sings about colours and the ABC song. It very interactive and very easy for my son to press the buttons on it. It’s really good as we can record our own voice and it will put it into a song. Another good thing about it is that I can change the volume level up or down
Love beat bo its so funny watching the kids dance with him. The voice changing bit is ace my children love.making him say silly things even the baby likes watching his light up tummy ?
We debated getting one of these for a long time and ended up paying over the odds because 2 weeks before xmas (the year they were released) everywhere had sold out so ended up paying £100 which I really regret my son did play with it but it wasn't his favourite toy therefore got neglected, can be annoying and repetitive. My son learnt some of the songs and beats and I would catch him singing the little ditties so it was nice to see him learning colours, abc's etc.
I live this toy, it is not only been used my family since 2015 by my eldest daughter it now being used by my youngest and she loves just as much. Whilst playing withy youngest, my eldest started to listening to what beatbo was saying and started to the actions. There are almost 3yrs difference between my girls and I thought it was lovely that they can both enjoy this toy together.
She just loves it. The bright flashing colour and exciting up beat music captures her attention. She will sit and interact with her beatbo.for up to 10 minutes at a time. It has been dribbled on, thrown by big brother, and generally abused bit is still going strong on first set of batteries, we have had this for 7 months.
Variety of music, learning numbers and colours, lots of lights

Got this for my son when he was 4 months old. He loved it then and loves it just as much now! It has lots of different contagious songs to learn and helps teach the alphabet and numbers too. I love this product just as much as my son. We have also purchased other beat bo toys.
I ended up buying two of these for my son as we could only find the pink version so when we saw the yellow on offer we had to buy it. My son loves his beatbo the colours are bright and he loves it when it moves we turn the lights of and put them both on and he is amazed. It also teaches colours.
On the downside it is heavy and my 8 month old has had it fall on him a few times. There is also The option to record something and beatbo sings it back i have tried this many times but it is awful and doesn't pick up anything that you say I have tried shouting holding it close and far away and had no luck.
We love beatbo !! We’ve bought but him for our own children and as gifts for others.
His lights are so bright and eye catching, not dull like other toys can be. It’s good that he has a loudness setting as you’ll need it haha.
My children have had hours of fun playing with it! We know the songs by heart now!
The kids love that you can record your own voice.
It is a bit repetitive but that’s because he is such a loved toy.
I bought my son it for Christmas as it was the latest crazy! I thought he may have been interested in it as the music and colours but he looked at it once and it's been sat in the toy box ever since!
The beat bo by fisher price is a great product. It was bought for my son at Christmas.and he absolutely.loves it. .It plays a few different songs encourages childrens language and helps with their development. There is an option to record your voice and have it played back it is just a shame, that you cant keep the recording so rhat you child can listen back to it. The product has great durability and i can see why it is a best seller . A great first toy for 6.months onwards
